What is Social Emotional Learning?

Social emotional learning (SEL) is the process by which children and young people acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are needed to develop healthy self-awareness and social relationships. With effective social emotional skills, children are better equipped to manage their emotions, set and reach their goals, make good decisions, maintain supportive relationships, and cope with everyday frustrations or challenges – not to mention, do better in school!
